Steve

An email arrived in the inbox from a man who signed off as “Manners.”

A few days later, I jumped on a call with Steve and made one simple note:
“Very busy schedule.”

At the time, I thought his life was hectic but looking back now, that was nothing compared to how full his days are today.

The starting point

It had been a tough year for Steve. After several bouts of illness, his energy levels had dropped, his weight had crept up and he was struggling to feel like himself.

Having previously played tennis at a professional level and taken on multiple endurance challenges, the drive and discipline were still there but he needed structure, accountability and a flexible plan that could fit around a demanding lifestyle.

Building the foundations

From day one, the focus was on mastering the basics:
🏋️ Regular, consistent training
🥦 Smarter nutrition choices
🧘‍♂️ Adequate recovery
🌳 Getting outside and moving more
😌 And occasionally being told to slow down!

Those fundamentals built the platform for long-term success. Over time, Steve dropped 25lbs of body fat, rebuilt his energy and raised his standards across all areas of life: health, fitness and mindset.

Going epic

Once the foundations were solid, Steve was ready for something bigger.

Every Person’s Individual Challenge.

For Steve, that challenge came in the form of Chase the Sun. A 205-mile ride across England. The goal: start at sunrise on the east coast and reach the west coast before the sun set.

It’s a brutal test of endurance, both physically and mentally.

Steve’s focus and discipline during training were exceptional. The process became more than preparation, it was a form of escapism, a way to clear his mind and bring balance to a busy life.

And yes, he completed the challenge, crossing the finish line with 20 minutes to spare!

Fit for Fifty

As Steve approached 50, his journey had entered its next phase: Project Fit for Fifty.

The 14-week transformation focused on burning body fat, sharpening habits and stepping into his 50s feeling confident, proud and in the best shape of his life.

Training remained consistent with four gym sessions per week and a few strategic tweaks along the way. The bigger focus was on daily movement, gradually increasing from 10,000 steps a day in January to 14,000 by the end of the process. (Steve’s dog, Bentley, was more than happy to help with that part!)

Most of the real progress came through attention to nutrition; establishing a manageable calorie deficit, improving protein intake and fine-tuning the small details like meal timing, flexibility and even incorporating chocolate to maintain balance and adherence.

The key ingredient? Consistency.

Steve showed up, day after day, no matter how busy life got.

The result:
🔥 38lbs of body fat lost in 3 months
💪 A leaner, stronger physique
⚡ The best energy and confidence he’s felt in over 20 years

From professional tennis to endurance events to photoshoot shape at 50, Steve’s journey is proof that age is no barrier to progress.
